I Have to Admit...

That I watched the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday night. Oh, the shame! :)

Just a few observations...

Miss Trinidad and Tobago was absolutely stunningly beautiful. She should have won, right? That's what it's all about. Just kidding! I know it's about poise and personality, and how each one intends to solve the problems of the world.

Miss Israel and Miss Lebanon were standing smack dab next to each other at one point. Isn't it ironic?

Miss Columbia and Miss Mexico were also beautiful, but they were a lot prettier before I heard them speak. Part of their beauty is imagining their culture and their language. In interviews both of them spoke perfect English with not even a hint of accent of their native language. Sounds fishy to me... :)

And good old Miss USA. I believe she made it to the top five; yes, she did, she was the 4th runner up. She was okay. Very pretty, kind of boring though.

And the judges? Who hires these people and thinks they're going to get honest votes based on poise and personality? Ummm...Emmitt Smith, Tom Green, some other American actor guy? Give me a break. They should have a bunch of big ladies doing the judging. They'd hate all of the girls because they're beautiful and be forced to judge on the elements that are meant to be judged.

Miss Puerto Rico won the crown but I think Canada was the prettiest. :) And Puerto Rico was wearing some funky metal dress. What in the world?

Oh well...there's always next year.

Funny! We watched about 5 minutes of it and then flipped the channel. We saw Miss USA, wearing some dumb-looking jockey outfit. What was that all about! That's representative of the USA?!?? Anyway, I wholeheartedly agree with your idea of having big women judge those things! Surely would make it a lot more meaningful!
